About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our team at Voith Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective HSE programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of the site HSE team, including work planning, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all health, safety, and environmental site issues, providing guidance and support to the project team.
  • Implement and follow KPIs and requirements to maintain compliance for Voith, the client, and authorities.
  • Analyze and support site accident investigations, incidents, or near misses, and deliver strong corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate programs, issue recommendations, and implement required changes for continuous improvement to ensure site HSE compliance with legislation and client requirements.
  • Ensure suitable policies, management systems, and controls are applied across HSE.
  • Be a coach to the project team and provide or arrange HSE training at the site when necessary.
  • Work with the HR Manager and Project Director to manage Workers' Compensation Claims and Return to Work programs.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative HSE reporting and participate in internal and client HSE meetings.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a health, safety, and environmental management role, preferably within the renewable energy, mining, or construction industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSE programs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HSE management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior/Management level position.
  • Strong experience in Hydro Power Plant construction projects is a plus, oil and gas sector, or heavy construction projects.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and a pragmatic view of HSE as an integral part of a construction project with schedule targets.
  • Thorough understanding of local and provincial regulations in Australia/New South Wales, and federal regulations, including Workplace Relations Management and Heavy Vehicles National Laws.
