About the Role

The Workplace Technology Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal design, performance, reliability, and scalability of Jemena's Workplace Technology platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership and Expertise: Providing deep technical expertise in architecture, the Specialist leads initiatives to optimize design, enhance performance, and ensure scalability.
  • Strategic Platform Planning: Collaborating with Digital and Business teams, and third-party vendors and partners to design long-term technical roadmaps that address business needs, integrate new technologies, and drive efficiency across IT systems.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensuring the platform is robust, resilient, and capable of meeting service quality standards required by the organization.
  • Leadership and Direction: Leading by example, the Specialist provides guidance and mentorship to Engineers, Operations, and other technical staff and teams.

Participation in an on-call 24x7 roster may be required to support some or all platform components, reflecting the essential nature of maintaining high platform availability and performance across Jemena's operational landscapes.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience managing and optimizing Information Management / Workplace Technology solutions across cloud infrastructure environments (AWS & Azure), O365, and the associated MS product ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated capability in handling complex SharePoint and Power Platform environments ensuring they are robust, scalable, and fully aligned with business requirements.
  • Understanding of how to design, deploy, and manage end-to-end technology / information management solutions effectively, including cloud and on-premises, security, compliance, and cost management.
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft domain, including in particular the O365 product ecosystem.
  • Understanding of underlying infrastructure technologies, including Compute, Storage, Backup, and Virtualization.
  • Ability to develop and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that meet current and future business needs.
  • Experience with IT projects to advise and consult across the domain landscape with a focus on leading project design and implementation phases.
  • Skilled in translating complex technical requirements into actionable strategies.
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools for monitoring, tuning, and optimizing IT systems to ensure they deliver optimal performance while remaining cost-effective.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and technology road mapping.
  • Ability to align technical strategies with broader business objectives and anticipate future technology needs.
