Drill and Blast Operations Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Drill and Blast Operations Manager to lead our efforts in the East Kimberley Region, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate teams on a rostered basis, leveraging shotfirer expertise in managing schedules effectively.
  • Liaise with HR for recruitment processes, offering valuable insights and expertise in selecting team members.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements while providing support to drill and blast crews.
  • Plan and deploy equipment, staff, inventory, and resources for optimal operational outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and manage team members to cultivate a cohesive and high-performing team.
  • Collaborate closely with the site manager to drive continuous improvement in drill and blast operations, championing a safety-focused culture.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years in supervisory roles within blasting/drilling operations, with a current shotfirer ticket.
  • Leadership skills in scheduling teams, emphasizing people management skills.
  • Insights and support in recruitment processes, liaising effectively with HR.
  • Customer relationship development and management skills.
  • Current HR and forklift license, with Shotfirers or Dangerous Goods ticket highly desirable.
  • Technical service experience within mining operations.
  • Physically capable of working in an outdoor environment involving prolonged periods of physical activity.
  • National Criminal History Check/SSAN, pre-employment medicals, and Drug and Alcohol screening.
  • Strong communication skills for relationship-building, leadership, and influence.
