Job Title: Fire Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Fire Systems Specialist.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire detection, alarm, and warning systems, as well as emergency lighting systems. They will also be required to read and interpret drawings to understand fire alarm and detection systems, emergency lighting systems, control systems to fire pumps and sprinkler deluge valves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely every day
  • Install, test, and maintain fire detection, alarm, and warning systems, as well as emergency lighting systems
  • Read and interpret drawings to understand fire alarm and detection systems, emergency lighting systems, control systems to fire pumps and sprinkler deluge valves
  • Undertake AS1851 statutory maintenance on fire systems and report any defects as required
  • Utilize knowledge of applicable fire services and Australian Standards
  • Identify defects on dry fire systems and compile reports for recommended repairs

Requirements:

  • A current Worksafe QLD electrical mechanic's license or a current QBCC occupational fire protection license with the classes; install and maintain fire alarm systems, inspect and test emergency lighting
  • A valid and unrestricted open Queensland driver's license
  • Ability to troubleshoot system performance issues and fault diagnosis
  • Ability to undertake system isolations and sound knowledge of fire indicator panels
  • Understanding of dry fire services in industrial buildings and mine sites
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with various individuals
  • Autonomous work approach with proactive deadline management
