Senior Geologist Job Description

The role of a Senior Geologist involves leading and mentoring a team of professional geologists to provide guidance, advice, and in-house training for their professional development and growth. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Geology or a closely related technical field, a minimum of 8 years of Geology experience, and a Professional Geologist (PG) license.

  • Supervise the field and office work of junior staff associated with hydrogeological investigations, environmental evaluations, and sampling
  • Prepare detailed design recommendations for complex or unusual conditions
  • Lead teams with varying responsibilities and tasks. Provide counsel, advice, and in-house training to individual staff. Identify training needs
  • Serve as an initial reviewer on selected projects and independently scope and budget projects, preparing proposal documents
  • Cultivate client relationships and assist in identifying, pursuing, and securing new project opportunities
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data and information
  • Prepare and present reports and proposals to clients and stakeholders
  • Provide expert guidance and support to junior staff members
