Senior Application Security Engineer

About the Role:

This is a senior-level opportunity for a thought leader in application security with deep expertise in secure software development lifecycle, secure design, and hands-on engineering. This role will drive strategic initiatives across the enterprise and be a key figure in building secure-by-design practices.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in application security engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education. They should also possess strong public or community contributions, excellent communication skills, and financial services background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of secure design frameworks and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with security and engineering teams to execute technical AppSec tasks.
  • Evaluate and integrate SAST, SCA, DAST, and other AppSec tools.
  • Perform secure code reviews and participate in peer security assessments.
  • Drive early security engagement in the SDLC lifecycle.
  • Author white papers and build proof-of-concepts.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in application security engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of security tooling across the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Public or community contributions (e.g., conference speaking, GitHub repos, blogs).
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
