This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Nurse Consultant to join the Liver Transplant Unit at SA Health. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical nursing care to patients undergoing liver transplantation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct, expert clinical nursing care to patients undergoing liver transplantation, including select, interpret and implement different therapeutic interventions, provide individual case management and education to a defined population of patients/clients and evaluate progress.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster for coordination of organ donor offers, retrieval and liver transplant surgery.
- Work collaboratively with a dynamic Liver Transplant Unit multidisciplinary team across SA & NT, as well as collaborate with other transplant units around Australia and New Zealand.
- Implement and coordinate processes for quality improvement and continuity within corporate risk management and nursing professional practice frameworks.
- Apply and share expert clinical knowledge to improve patient/client care outcomes in SA.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
- Demonstrated ability to practice autonomously in clinical scenarios.
