Monash University and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their PhD program in energy and climate change. The Zema Energy Studies Scholarship is a world-class PhD program designed to develop the nation's future energy leaders.

About the Scholarship

The Zema Scholarship aims to create a cohort of energy professionals with advanced multidisciplinary knowledge across engineering, IT, and business and economics. The PhD program is intended to deepen students' expertise, unlock their full leadership potential, and help them gain exposure to Australia's national energy industry.

Research Areas

The scholarship provides a $50,000 per annum stipend plus the opportunity for a paid internship with AEMO. Potential research areas include:

  • Forecasting the future of indoor air
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
  • Energy forecasting and scenario planning for the Australian energy sector
Eligibility

Candidates must have a degree in the social sciences or a cognate discipline (e.g., anthropology, sociology, geography, design). Researchers receive many requests for supervision, so it is essential to have a clear and specific research proposal.
