- Automation and DevOps experience with automation tools, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Project management skills, including experience in managing IT projects from inception to completion, including skills in project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Technical expertise in software development, system architecture, network infrastructure, database management, security, and cloud computing.
- Business strategy understanding, including strategic intent and prioritisation to align demand to deliver commercially sound outcomes.
- Business roadmap knowledge, including Shell Energy architecture roadmap ensuring it is fit for purpose, known and incorporated into delivery roadmaps.
- System architecture and design principles, including designing scalable, reliable, high-performance systems, and knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architectures, service-oriented architectures (SOA) and event-driven architectures.
- Networking and infrastructure knowledge, including networking protocols, infrastructure components, virtualisation technologies, and cloud computing platforms.
- Database management understanding, including database concepts, relational database management systems, NoSQL databases, data modelling, database optimisation, and database security.
- Security best practices, including familiarity with information security principles, threat modelling, encryption techniques, identity and access management (IAM), security compliance standards, and secure coding practices.
- DevOps and automation knowledge, including infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management tools, automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring/logging solutions.
- Cloud computing understanding, including cloud service models, cloud deployment models, cloud security considerations, and experience working with major cloud providers.
- Data analytics and big data technologies, including familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques, big data technologies, data warehousing solutions, and business intelligence (BI) platforms.
- Regulatory compliance and governance, including knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards for IT governance, compliance, and risk management.
