Utility Service Worker I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Service Worker I to join our team. As a key member of our utility services department, you will perform entry-level service maintenance work in the maintenance, construction, and repair of utility mains and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual digging for line excavation and pipeline installation
  • Assist in grouting, fitting pipe, locating lateral sewer lines, and operating mechanical equipment
  • Work on planned and unplanned overtime and standby and call-out duties on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)
  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of utilities distribution and collection facilities is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, drive, and use hands and feet for extended periods

Working Conditions:

  • Work at heights above/below ground level, in cold, damp, hot, humid, dusty conditions, etc.
