About the Role

The Community Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping and achieving our organisation's vision and goals. The specialist focuses on identifying and addressing the genuine needs and aspirations of young people, diverting them from the criminal justice system by providing safe transportation, and linking them to case management services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Meet individual case performance targets as per weekly, monthly and quarterly dashboard system.
  2. Provide high quality and intent-based practice in all interactions with clients, consistent with our values and vision.
  3. Provide high quality case management practices and record keeping that adhere to operational requirements.
  4. Demonstrate positive and warm engagement through an assertive outreach approach that engages clients into the service.
  5. Facilitate a client-led assessment and Care Plan to identify the client's goals, including the entire family, where appropriate.
  6. Provide role-specific targeted interventions and family facilitated group meetings in achieving client goals.
  7. Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

Requirements

  • Current Diploma - or actively studying towards - Diploma in social work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention, or 2 years' relevant experience in field or Certificate III or higher in relevant field and 12 months experience within our youth or outreach team.
  • Requirement to travel across the Logan and/or Brisbane region, as per program location.
  • Requirement to work after-hour, including night rosters and weekends.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours.
  • Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
