Civil Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Webuild S.p.A. in a challenging and remote area of the Snowy Mountains in NSW. As a key member of our Quality Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the quality management system on the project, ensuring compliance with the Deed, FGJV Quality Management System, and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure conformity with project specifications and standards.
- Verify the implementation of remedial and preventative actions proposed in Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Prepare and maintain project system and technical audit schedules, and draft audit reports for approval by the Quality Manager.
- Apply Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and calibration control of measuring and testing equipment.
- Attend external audits as delegated by the Project Quality Manager and authorized to carry out system audits and raise NCRs and CARs.
- Maintain registers of system documents, including work lots, ITPs, NCRs, and Inspection and Maintenance Test Equipment (IMTE).
- Undertake quality inspections on-site and in supplier and subcontractor worksites to ensure conformity with project specifications and standards.
- Verify product compliance by reviewing work lot records and closing them out upon compliance.
- Implement and maintain quality system documents and records, and ensure all other records are managed effectively.
- Assist in lot identification in accordance with project requirements, including both direct and sub-contract works, procured materials, and services.
- Attend regular Quality meetings and construction meetings in your area of responsibility.
- Prepare submissions on the performance of the quality system for inclusion in the project monthly report as directed by the Project Quality Manager.
- Participate in Management reviews of the performance of the project quality management system.
- Request stop work due to quality issues.
- Review Construction Method Statements, ITPs, and other construction documents to ensure compliance with the relevant Technical Specifications and Design Documentations.
- Set challenging and productive goals for the construction team and keep team accountable for actions.
- Build strong relationships, be flexible/open-minded, negotiate effectively, solicit performance feedback, and handle constructive criticism.
- Target and achieve results, prioritize tasks, overcome obstacles, and accept accountability.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., BE, Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent).
- Quality management system internal audit qualification (preferred).
- White Card.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role (preferred).
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects.
- Experience in quality management and construction.
- Good understanding of Quality Specification (Q6) and ISO AS/NZS 9001 requirements.
- Good understanding of construction, concrete pre-casting processes, methods, and specifications.
- Good understanding of Infrastructure/Construction specifications.
- Good communication abilities, both verbally and in writing, create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, share information and ideas with others.
- Process-oriented, able to analyze complex issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across different levels.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Strong initiative and proactive nature.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed time management skills.

- Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
