Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about empowering people with disabilities to live their best lives. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered support to clients in various settings, including group homes and community access programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to clients with varying levels of disability, focusing on promoting independence and self-advocacy;
  • Assisting clients with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and domestic duties;
  • Developing and implementing tailored support plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each client;
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification;

• Experience working in the disability sector, preferably in a community-based setting;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike;

• Knowledge of person-centered approaches and principles of inclusive practice;

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to changing circumstances;

• Current First Aid and CPR certification, as well as a valid Victorian Driver's Licence;

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check (as required);

• Valid vaccinations status for COVID-19 and flu vaccination.
