About the Role

Megaport is seeking an experienced Operations Support Systems Engineer to join our team in Mexico City. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Network Management and Service Management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business requirements and collaborate with operations stakeholders to prepare effective solutions.
  • Work with internal technology teams to architect solutions that address business requirements.
  • Present solutions to business unit managers and executives for sign-off.
  • Own the deployment of agreed solutions, including design, project management, implementation, QA, and release.
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and applications required to deliver capabilities.
  • Design and implement integrations between new and existing systems.
  • Ensure all systems developed are monitored and alert when failures occur.
  • Maintain design and specification documentation for assigned projects in Megaport's knowledge base.
  • Develop test strategies and procedures for all OSS & BSS work and provide support for fault analysis.
  • Provide upgrades to all processes and integrate third-party products into the network.
  • Perform troubleshooting on all processes and resolve issues in the OSS & BSS platform.
  • Provide periodic progress reports for management consumption.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication networks and cloud platforms, including MPLS, AWS, and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining OSS and BSS tools.
  • Experience in integrating systems and automating operations at scale.
  • Experience in Network Management Systems.
  • Experience with databases such as IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • Experience and good working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Advance Python coding experience. Any level of Perl coding experience is highly desirable.
  • System Integration experience, leveraging REST, LDAP, Message Bus, OAuth, and etc.
  • Experience with config management and infrastructure as code tools.
  • Comfortable taking part in an agile development process.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, self-driven, enthusiastic, and independent professional.
  • A deep analytical approach to solution development and problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate and experienced in automating things and ensuring systems scalability, reliability, and security.
