Mortgage Risk Manager

This role is responsible for Loan Review and Clearance. The Senior Underwriter communicates all mortgage loan guidelines to Loan Processors and Loan Officers.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a pipeline within company standards: 24-hour turn-around time for final underwrite and 48-hour turn-around time for upfront.
- Analyze and assess risk for initial credit decision based on company checklists, internal guides, Agency guides and Investor guides.
- Communicate errors and missing information to processor via email and/or telephone.
- Adjust condition sheet in Encompass with applicable conditions.
- Review resubmission as items are gathered and submitted by the processor.
- Issue final approval uploading all necessary approval documentation into Encompass with appropriate signatures.
- Collaborate with internal departments on any stipulations for closed files.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- SAR and/or DE, preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriter experience, preferred.
- Working knowledge of mortgage banking software, mortgage underwriting, loans, purchase, and refinance transactions.
- Experience Underwriting USDA and Bond programs, a plus.
- Excellent customer service, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
