Position Overview

The Manager, MSR Valuation runs internal valuation systems, compiles data, produces comprehensive analytical reports, and conducts detailed analyses of investment performance and hedge attribution. This role collaborates with pricing model developers, investment teams, and risk management, to focus on optimizing data processes for enhanced accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models within Snowflake to support business.
  • Develop and implement data quality checks and validation rules to identify and correct errors and inconsistencies in data.
  • Automate data cleaning and validation process using scripting languages (e.g. Python) and data quality tools.
  • Integrate cleaned and validated external data into internal valuation models and databases.
  • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for seamless data integration.
  • Collaborate with pricing model developers to understand data requirements and ensure data suitability.
  • Manage and operate internal systems for asset and investment valuations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the data processed.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on investment performance, risk, and returns, translating complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Analyze investment performance across multiple asset classes in depth, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data by conducting regular checks and audits on input sources.
  • Work closely with the investment team, risk management, and other departments to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicate findings clearly and concisely, tailoring presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify opportunities for improving data analysis processes and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data or financial analysis role, preferably within a financial or investment environment.
  • Proficient in Excel including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Proficient with analytical software like Snowflake, SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), preferred.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills to work with complex datasets to draw meaningful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy in all work.
  • Skill in effectively collaborating in a team environment as well as across departments.
