About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary brigade in a la carte at Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for producing menu items for our signature breakfast buffet in Suzette restaurant and providing exceptional service for the restaurant's a la carte dining.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve excellent food presentation and service standards.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Participate in menu planning and development, contributing to the creation of new dishes and specials.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified in Commercial Cookery (essential).
  • Experience in a similar role in a five-star or luxury environment (preferred).
  • Excellent food hygiene and knowledge of kitchen safety procedures.
  • Passion for providing exceptional food and luxury guest service.
  • Enthusiasm and professionalism, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
