About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accounting Team Leader to join our team at Southern Cross Care Queensland.

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading our Financial Accounting team and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Financial Accounting team and provide mentoring, development, and training for team members
  • Ensure positive team morale and cohesiveness by promoting innovation and team engagement
  • Prepare EOM & EOY Financial Accounting and reporting
  • Coordinate the external audit process
  • Prepare taxation and regulatory compliance and timely submissions
  • Maintain integrity of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations in accordance with AASB Standards

Requirements:

  • Qualified CA/CPA with professional accounting body or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to manage tasks and the team to achieve agreed outcomes and timeframes
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and processes
  • Strong technical skills and a passion for thinking outside the box
  • Statutory and EOM reporting experience with ability to communicate financial data and results effectively
