About the Role

Aurelia Metals is seeking a dedicated finance professional to lead our Accounts Payable Team and provide financial accounting support to the wider corporate finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, our Accounts Payable Team Leader will have the flexibility to split their time between delivering end-to-end accounts payable functions and accounting functions, including processing of journals, collation of FBT returns, reconciliations, supporting audits and half and year end reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of Accounts Payable Officers, while also providing financial accounting support to our Finance Team
  • Drive the Accounts Payable team to achieve and exceed Key Performance Metrics (KPIs).
  • Provide strong Accounts Payable services, providing administrative support to both operational mine sites and project initiatives.
  • Enhance and verify internal control measures and process documentation, setting standards for excellence.
  • Manage comprehensive accounts payable and supplier reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting team to maintain general ledger precision and complete various Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring our transparency and adherence to regulations.
  • Ensure prompt and professional responses to all Accounts Payable inquiries, fostering strong internal and external relationships.
  • Compilation of cyclical reporting requirements including BAS and PTR.
  • Flexibly assist with various data entry and system management tasks, providing relief for Accounts Payable Officers as needed.
  • Preparation and collation of FBT returns
  • Preparation and processing of monthly journals
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations
About You
  • You will bring a growth mindset and positive demeanour to a collaborative environment, ideally with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in delivery, while providing leadership to an experienced AP team.
  • Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to interact effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience with and willingness to take on financial accounting responsibilities, including journaling, preparation of FBT returns, monthly reconciliations, audit support, and period end reporting.
  • Your AP expertise spans the entire Purchase to Pay cycle, underpinned by strong systems knowledge and problem-solving prowess.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic workflow solutions is second nature to you.
  • You have a track record of developing governance and internal control documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is crucial, along with a solid understanding of GST legislation.
  • You will be degree qualified in accounting/finance (or similar).
