Job Title: Technical Operations Engineer - Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee

A 12-month development program offers hands-on operational experience through on-site shadowing, complemented by weekly classroom sessions led by experienced AWS Certified Instructors. Trainees learn data center industry fundamentals, assist with maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, perform rack installs and decommissioning.

The Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure of AWS, ensuring standards for operational performance in areas such as safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost. The team works closely with other departments to ensure seamless operation of the cloud platform.

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Learning data center industry fundamentals through classroom sessions and on-site experience
  • Assisting with maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Performing rack installs and decommissioning
  • Managing and leading incident response
  • Providing operational readings and key performance indicators to maintain uptime
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure seamless operation of the cloud platform
