Job Title: Specialist Maths Teacher

About Us

We are a centre-of-excellence for high-ability senior secondary students from government schools across Victoria.

We offer a range of programs, including:

  • VCE Algorithmics 3 & 4
  • VCE Extended Investigation 3 & 4
  • VCE English Language 1- 4

Our unique curriculum programs are designed to engage and meet the needs of high-ability students in the senior secondary years.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.
  3. Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  4. Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. Demonstrated experience in using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
  5. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
  6. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to extending and supporting high-ability students and a capacity to teach in a hybrid online and on-site environment.

The Role:

The classroom teacher is responsible for the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.

As the classroom teacher gains experience, their contribution to the school program beyond the classroom will be expected to increase.
