Business Development Role

Overview:

  • We're seeking a driven Business Development Manager to grow our Automation Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify & Develop Opportunities – Proactively seek out new business across target industries, including manufacturing, mining, O&G and utilities.
  2. Build Client Relationships – Establish and maintain strong, long-term partnerships based on trust, technical expertise, and value creation.
  3. Collaborate with Technical Teams – Work closely with our team to shape solutions that meet client needs and deliver measurable results.
  4. Drive the Sales Process – Lead opportunity qualification, proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations through to close.
  5. Market Engagement – Represent us at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to raise awareness of our capabilities.
  6. Strategic Growth Input – Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and client feedback to inform our growth strategy.
  7. Achieve Performance Targets – Meet or exceed agreed sales, revenue, and pipeline goals in line with our sustainable growth objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account management within automation, OT, industrial controls, or related engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, including PLC/SCADA systems, MES, industrial networking, instrumentation, and robotics.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships across diverse industries.
  • Skilled in leading the sales process from opportunity identification to contract execution.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to create compelling value propositions and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
