Role Summary

This position is responsible for the application of scientific and technical knowledge in diagnostic techniques, including problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The incumbent will apply scientific and technical knowledge to perform routine diagnostic tests, including defining problems, planning tasks, executing procedures, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
  • Contributions to the development, selection, and adoption of new techniques and methodologies will be made under supervision.
  • Support will be provided to the training and supervision of technical laboratory staff in routine tests and tasks.
  • Participation in teaching and research activities as required by the department will be expected.
Requirements:
  • A current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • A Working With Children Check (DHS)
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description
Qualifications:
  • A degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 with more than 70% of subjects relevant to the field of pathology from a university in Australia or an equivalent qualification from an overseas tertiary institution
  • An associate qualification conferred by the Australian Institute of Medical Technologists before December 1, 1973
