Position Objective: As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality specialist advice and support across a range of complex human resource matters. Your focus will be on improving people and safety processes, systems, and practices while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational goals. This role is a Part-time Permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice, support, and solutions to managers and staff on various HR matters, including organisational design, performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
  • Lead all aspects of the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process to attract and engage staff aligned with the organisation's strategic direction and vision.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and support business initiatives.
  • Liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, representing the organisation in discussions and managing contracts for people-centered services.
  • Act as a recognised expert on employment instruments such as Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and various legislative acts.
  • Partner with leaders to develop and embed the organisation's Work Health and Safety (WHS) management system.
  • Manage HR projects that support workforce engagement and sustainability, such as organisational culture reviews, succession planning, and enterprise bargaining negotiations.
  • Coordinate and report on all workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, working closely with insurers and external advisors on workers' compensation and return-to-work management.
  • Provide high-level HR project management, including developing organisational values, managing restructures, and negotiating enterprise agreements.

Level of Responsibility: The HR Business Partner will:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operate with significant autonomy, using initiative to set priorities and make decisions within established frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge of contemporary HR management practices and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex HR cases, including disputes requiring third-party intervention.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with a strong track record of producing clear, concise, and engaging reports and documents.
  • High-level conceptual and analytical skills to evaluate information and provide interpretive solutions and recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with HR, payroll, and accounting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and lead, mentor, and develop staff in a dynamic, priority-driven environment.
  • A commitment to ethical behavior consistent with the organisation's vision and strategic direction.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A current driver's license.
