Job Description

This is a full-time, temporary role at a co-educational K–10 Catholic school. The teacher supports the mission and ethos of Catholic education and fosters the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each student.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.
  • Develop and implement quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.
  • Use inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.
  • Analyse student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and staff and contribute to school life.
  • Provide student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
  • Able to monitor and assess student learning data and use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.
  • Commitment to contributing to a broad range of school activities and reflects on and improves professional knowledge in a learning team.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of NESA and Australian Curriculum requirements.
