Operations Manager Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our senior management, you will play a pivotal role in leading multiple civil construction projects across Queensland.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading by example and fostering a culture of leadership at all levels;
  • Implementing systems and processes aligned with our Strategic Business Plan;
  • Ensuring project success through effective resource allocation;
  • Establishing clear accountability matrices and optimizing performance;
  • Maintaining robust contractual management to protect our commercial outcomes;
  • Developing and enhancing relationships with clients and suppliers;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification;
  • At least 20 years of experience in civil construction, with 6+ years as a Project Manager;
  • High levels of drive and urgency to achieve responsibilities;
  • Exceptional contractual expertise and financial acumen;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to mentor and develop talent;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • 1-2+ years of experience as a Construction Manager or similar;
  • Front Line Management certification or equivalent experience;
  • Certificate IV in Safety or equivalent expertise;
  • RPEQ and/or CPEng certification;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quality Assurance processes.
