Finance Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at the City of Greater Geelong. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial information, reports and analysis concerning the performance of the Directorate to promote financially sustainability.

The successful candidate will have a passion to work for the City and give back to the community. You will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Directors, Managers and their teams to provide financial planning and analysis.
  • Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the directorate and organisation.
  • Providing financial advice and decision analysis support for structure and service reviews, process improvements, cost management initiatives and business cases.
  • Monitoring key internal and external drivers of performance and analysing the financial impact of emerging priorities, key risks and opportunities.
  • Championing the use of organisational data to support decision making.
  • Providing financial training including induction of finance systems, awareness and understanding of management accounting principles and processes.
  • Implementing auditable accounting practices and reporting structures to the benefit of key decision makers within the City.
