Mining Engineering Manager Job

Job Description

We are seeking a Mining Engineering Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supervising, and reviewing mining engineering standards and procedures.

This is an opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and support a high-performing team. The leadership skills of the applicant will be instrumental in optimising performance and ensuring long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Manage and review effective standards for statutory inspections, communication and reporting
  • Engage with Statutory Regulators and Industry Safety and Health Representatives as required
  • Cultivate positive relationships within site teams
  • Ensure detailed planning and scheduling to optimise production
  • Contribute to strategic growth and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • NW Mining Engineering Manager Certificate or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • 10+ years mining experience, with at least 3 years in underground longwall mining
  • 5+ years in operational management and supervisory roles
  • Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or related discipline (desirable)
  • Valid NSW explosive security clearance (formerly UHL) (desirable)
  • Valid Australian drivers licence
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication
