The mining industry is a complex and dynamic sector that requires highly skilled professionals to plan, execute and optimize mine operations. This role is designed for an individual who possesses exceptional technical expertise and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly plans in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Design and schedule equipment such as draglines, rope shovels and hydraulic excavators to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and site standards through rigorous planning and monitoring.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mines and achieving our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Mining Engineering or a related field, as well as significant experience in mine planning within an open cut coal mining environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in mine planning within an open cut coal mining environment.
  • Advanced skills in CAD design software packages such as Deswik, ShotPlus or Vulcan.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
