Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President

Monash University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President to lead the delivery of efficient and effective corporate services across the university.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing and implementing strategies that drive organisational performance, and will be able to provide visionary leadership and exceptional operational expertise to drive seamless, integrated, enterprise-wide organisational performance.
The COO portfolio encompasses a diverse range of business functions, including human resources, office of the general counsel, buildings and property, digital and IT services, marketing and communications, recruitment and admissions, operational resilience, and planning and commercial services.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of broader operational disciplines across management, IT, infrastructure, legal services, and HR, and will be able to provide trusted support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and senior executive on business-critical matters.
The COO will be an integral member of the Vice-Chancellor's Group and the Vice-Chancellor's Executive Committee, and will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the university's strategic goals in Impact 2030.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to drive organisational performance
- Providing visionary leadership and exceptional operational expertise
- Overseeing the COO portfolio and ensuring seamless, integrated, enterprise-wide organisational performance
- Providing trusted support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and senior executive
- Leading high-performing teams and driving organisational efficiency
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and operational expertise, and will be able to demonstrate a sophisticated blend of commercial acumen, inspirational leadership, and strategic vision.
