Academic Director, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor

Monash University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Academic Director, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous). This senior academic leadership position will provide strong academic leadership, research expertise, and strategic planning to advance Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.
About the RoleThe Academic Director will support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) on academic and strategic matters and will play a key role in the development and delivery of curriculum and educational experiences that advance Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. The successful candidate will leverage their outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to lead and initiate research and engagement programs aligned with the Indigenous portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership and strategic planning to advance Indigenous knowledge and perspectives
- Support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) on academic and strategic matters
- Develop and deliver curriculum and educational experiences that advance Indigenous knowledge and perspectives
- Lead and initiate research and engagement programs aligned with the Indigenous portfolio
The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation, a strong research background, and the ability to conceptualise and confidently deliver cross-cultural curriculum that advances Indigenous knowledges and perspectives. Only Indigenous Australians are eligible to apply for this position as it is exempt under the Special Measure Provision, Section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2011 (Vic).
