Job Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President is a key leadership role at Monash University, responsible for overseeing the university's extensive and diverse portfolio of business functions. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering organisational efficiency, administrative and transformative initiatives, and strategic thinking to drive seamless, integrated, enterprise-wide organisational performance.
About the Role:
The COO will lead a team of approximately 1,200 FTE, overseeing an operating budget of around $410m and a capital development budget of up to $250m. The business functions within the portfolio encompass a range of areas, including Office of the COO, Human Resources, Office of the General Counsel, Buildings and Property, Digital and IT Services, Marketing and Communications, Recruitment and Admissions, Operational Resilience, and Planning and Commercial Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive the delivery of efficient and effective corporate services
- Provide trusted support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and senior executive on business-critical matters
- Lead high-performing teams to deliver organisational efficiency and administrative and transformative initiatives
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the university's business functions
- Ensure alignment with the university's strategic goals in Impact 2030
