Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer requests through our freight management system, prioritizing and allocating resources to ensure efficient deliveries to our customers.

The key responsibilities of this role include liaising with customers and staff, forecasting transport requirements, booking and maintaining time slots, pre-planning and organizing wharf and container park bookings, and proactively checking and maintaining cut offs and deadlines.

The Transport Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting with the scheduling and allocation of drivers and subcontractors to ensure productivity and operating efficiencies, driving performance of processes through effective planning, and ensuring job details are conveyed to drivers precisely and efficiently.

  • Liaise with and provide high quality customer service to customers and staff
  • Forecasting transport requirements
  • Booking and maintaining time slots

  • Proactively check and maintain cut offs and deadlines
  • Assisting, when required, with the scheduling / allocating of drivers and subcontractors to ensure productivity and operating efficiencies

  • Ensuring job details are conveyed to drivers precisely and efficiently
  • Ensuring that all jobs are recorded, and general data entry is processed correctly
About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Transport Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in shipping, freight forwarding or wharf transport, and will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proven experience within shipping, freight forwarding or wharf transport
  • Ability to manage and cope with high volumes of tasks simultaneously for extended periods of time
  • Remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
