Job Overview

This is a permanent full-time opportunity to lead civil infrastructure projects and maintenance programs. The successful candidate will manage contracts, optimise resources, deliver high-quality outcomes on time, and provide expert advice to shape strategic decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee Operations Programs – Provide leadership and strategic direction for the delivery of capital works, maintenance programs, and infrastructure projects.
  • Project and Contract Management – Prepare, supervise, and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and best practice.
  • Technical Oversight – Provide specialist engineering advice, review designs, and support decision-making on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strategic Planning & Resource Allocation – Contribute to departmental strategy, long-term planning, and efficient allocation of staff, plant, and financial resources.
  • Quality, Compliance & Risk Management – Implement and maintain quality control systems, ensuring projects meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership – Liaise with internal teams, consultants, government departments, and the community while fostering a high-performing, collaborative work environment.

Candidates should have experience in maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure projects, team management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement. They should possess strong organisational ability, including planning, WHS, human resource management, financial management, and problem analysis/resolution.

Requirements
  • AQF Level 7 (or above) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications
  • Significant experience in team management, project delivery and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated high level organisational ability
  • Substantial experience in preparing tender documents and technical specifications
  • Proven ability to effectively contribute to the establishment, maintenance and success of work teams focused on achieving team and project goals
