Business Analyst - Data Solutions Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to join our team, focusing on Data Warehousing solutions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and drive business value through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive data requirements documentation that aligns with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposed solutions meet governance standards and business needs.
  • Review business requirements, providing actionable feedback to ensure accuracy and completeness for meaningful estimates of delivery.

Process Improvement & Strategy
  • Understand internal customers' business processes, identify opportunities, and provide innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Align Information Management strategy with business objectives, leveraging industry roadmaps to deliver on business vision.
  • Assist business areas in developing a deeper understanding of Data Management developments and how to leverage data technology roadmaps.

Estimation Management (under guidance of IM Consulting Lead)
  • Serve as the point of contact for all business forums to assess and advise on new initiatives.
  • Work with IM management and business stakeholders to understand and manage business impacts and opportunities from data-related changes.
  • Prepare discovery and delivery t-shirt size and Order of Magnitude (OoM) estimates, distributing them to required business stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate regular feature estimates and handover sessions with delivery teams.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders on request progress.
  • Report on metrics related to requests received, approved for funding, and delivered.

Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure stakeholders of the IM function are informed of any impacts from scheduled releases or environment changes.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations proactively.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with Program Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Leads, etc.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
  • Mandatory skills: defining data requirements, analytical activities/report prototyping, strong quantitative and analytical skills, technical knowledge of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Reporting technologies, and Cloud Solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Desirable skills: business partnering or consulting, services orientation, strong customer focus, working experience on a Cloud technology, SAS, MicroStrategy, Tableau experience, ALEX solutions knowledge.
