Job Title: Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Design Specialist in our Industrial Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing special-build air compressors, assembling air compressor packages, pumps and associated equipment, providing technical support and fault finding, assisting in quotations, costings, service agreements and parts availability, sharing knowledge through training other staff, and ensuring quality control and customer satisfaction.

About You:

  • A minimum of post-secondary qualifications at trade or certificate level in electrical or mechanical engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in mechanical aptitude, hands-on tools and knowledge of technical parts is essential.
  • The ability to develop and document air compressor system designs is a must.
  • Strong skills in general maintenance, breakdown and diagnostics are necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • A strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability and efficiency are essential qualities.
  • A positive attitude and ability to follow directions are necessary.
  • A strong focus on safety and quality is crucial.
  • The ability to problem solve and multitask is essential.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised are necessary.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering would be an advantage.
  • A valid driver's license would be preferred.
  • A First Aid certificate would be advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in electro-mechanical engineering design would be highly desirable.
  • High-level skills in associated unrestricted electrical works would be beneficial.
  • Some knowledge of international best practice in the industry would be advantageous.
  • Awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds would be beneficial.
