About the Role

The Senior Performance Analyst will be a key member of the Performance and Insights team within WorkSafe Victoria's Claims and Recovery Support division. This role will focus on providing quantitative analysis, advice, and reporting on performance trends, identifying emerging risk and opportunities relating to recovery, treatment, return to work, weekly payments, and other claims management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of regular insights informed by statistical analyses.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise to distill complex analytics and insights into actionable and easy-to-understand formats for executive stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and advice to other analysts to ensure analytical models and subsequent insights meet agreed standards.
  • Take a leadership role in analytics projects and initiatives, including responsibility for delivering key components.
  • Develop and provide analytical services, working with stakeholders in other business units to translate business problems into technical requirements and specifications that drive data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Deliver guidance and advice that enables others to conduct performance measurement and program evaluation, and lead responses to ad-hoc requests for statistical analyses and insights.
  • Embed statistical software tools and evolve their use within the team.
  • Ensure analytical models and outputs meet agreed standards by ensuring appropriate documentation and undertaking peer review.
About You

You will be an experienced analyst with the ability to problem-solve, undertake effective research and analysis, and produce complex statistical models. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build trusted relationships and summarize complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.

You will also possess:

  • Ability to lead stakeholder engagement activities to collect, identify, and articulate stakeholder requirements.
  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to support other analysts and quality-check their output.
  • Experience working with data sources and core systems.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • A strong knowledge of and experience using data visualization and reporting tools in day-to-day work, including experience designing, developing, and implementing new initiatives.
  • Statistical, quantitative, and/or financial modeling skills combined with a demonstrated capacity to innovate in developing solutions to business challenges.
  • Tertiary qualification (e.g., Statistics, Business, Computer Science) or relevant experience.
