Job Title

Maintenance Supervisor is a pivotal role that oversees the upkeep and maintenance of mobile plant equipment, ensuring seamless operations in remote civil and mining projects.

This site-based workshop position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising safe and cost-effective maintenance activities, driving operational efficiencies, and promoting a strong safety culture.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a healthy work environment;
  • Manage resources effectively to meet maintenance schedules and optimize project timelines;
  • Drive productivity improvements through process optimization and employee engagement;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, facilitating their growth and development;
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and develop personalized improvement plans;
  • Resolve conflicts and crew problems promptly, fostering a positive and inclusive team dynamic;
  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance tasks on mobile plant equipment, utilizing fault-finding skills to prevent breakdowns.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade qualification;
  • Current driver's license;
  • Proven experience in supervisory or management roles, with a focus on maintenance and operations;
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment and Kenworth/Mack Trucks, as well as ancillary gear;
  • Understanding of civil/mining mobile plant and crushing operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance systems like MEX;
  • Strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling seamless collaboration with employees, clients, and suppliers;
  • Self-motivation and a positive attitude, coupled with a willingness to work in remote locations;
  • A hands-on approach, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
