About the Role

The Academic Support Specialist works collaboratively with Student Services and Academic teams to develop and provide student learning support to a diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised counselling to students regarding academic performance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs, orientation, resources, and services to promote student wellbeing and engagement
  • Offer program/course advice, academic policies, and procedures to students
  • Maintain student records and contribute to regular reporting
  • Support students identified as 'at risk' with their study program
  • Assist students with academic writing, language enhancement, and assignments
  • Establish student academic support networks
  • Refer students to the Student Counsellor and other core professional services as necessary
  • Provide individual or group assistance with assignments and academic literacies
