Job Title: Library Collection Manager, Administration and Operations

Job Description
  To provide a high-quality library service to our diverse community, we are seeking an experienced Library Technician in the role of Collection Management, Administration, and Operations.

  This permanent full-time position will work across our libraries based in Brunswick and Campbell Turnbull. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our collections, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to events and activities that promote literacy and lifelong learning.

  Key responsibilities include: digitization and cataloging, acquisition of new materials, managing digital resources, supervising junior staff, and participating in continuous professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  
  • Postgraduate Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellence in customer service provision to all sections of the community.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations, think critically and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child safety and wellbeing requirements and how this applies in the public library setting.
  • Knowledge of collection management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, digital literacy, and time management skills.
