Disability Support Professional

Description of the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care to an individual with complex needs. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in supporting individuals with disabilities and demonstrate a strong ability to work collaboratively with others.

The role involves assisting with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, as well as managing medications, administering enemas, and performing hoisting tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing skin checks, assisting with Tracheostomy Management, and supporting with Health and Rehab exercises.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Australian Driver Licence
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Blue Card
  • Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
Benefits:

This is a temporary position based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane. Our client offers a competitive hourly rate, which varies depending on shift times. The current pay rates are as follows:

  • Day - $40.00 per hour
  • Afternoon - $44.00 per hour
  • Night - $44.80 per hour
  • Inactive Overnight - $144.80
  • Saturday - $56.00 per hour
  • Sunday - $72.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assistance with personal care, including hygiene, bathing, and grooming
  2. Assistance with catheter management
  3. Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
  4. Assistance with PEG feeding
  5. Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
  6. Assistance with Tracheostomy Management
  7. Completing skin checks
  8. Administering Medication
  9. Assistance with domestic tasks, including cleaning and meal preparation
  10. Assistance with Health and Rehab exercises
