**Job Title:** Demi Chef

About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Demi Chef to join our kitchen brigade at the Sydney Domestic Lounges. As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for leading your designated section and ensuring smooth preparation and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of your designated section, ensuring consistency and accuracy in preparing and presenting all menu items.
  • Step in to assist other sections when needed, while also guiding and supporting junior chefs.
  • Maintain a positive and professional tone for your colleagues by setting high standards for food quality.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and compliance standards, with a strong understanding of HACCP requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for our guests.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Demi Chef or similar role within a high-volume commercial kitchen.
  • Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles, across all sections (cold larder, pans, grill, sauces).
  • Knowledge of a wide range of cooking methods and techniques.
  • Experience working in a HACCP environment, with strong understanding of food safety compliance.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • A team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to adhere to portion control, food waste, and production procedures.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, with full availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays as required.
