Regulatory Compliance Leader

Role Overview:
AUSTRAC’s Enforcement VisionThe role of Director, Enforcement requires a leader with the ability to implement and develop key strategies, policies, and procedures to effectively regulate and enforce Australia's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) Act.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Enforcement team to deliver agreed outcomes by building and maintaining a high-performing team with the appropriate capabilities and skill sets. They must exercise complex professional judgement in enforcement matters, contribute to AUSTRAC's strategic goals, and represent the organization in external forums while liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement effective regulatory and enforcement strategies to prevent and disrupt criminal exploitation of the Australian financial system.
- Team Management: Lead the Enforcement team to deliver agreed outcomes through effective team management, capability development, and performance monitoring.
- Professional Judgement: Exercise complex professional judgement in enforcement matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent AUSTRAC in external forums and engage with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain networks.
We seek a highly experienced and skilled Director who can lead our Enforcement function and drive AUSTRAC's vision. Key attributes include:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, investigations, and enforcement.
- Ability to exercise complex professional judgement in enforcement matters.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
