Senior Regulatory Officer Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Officer to join our team in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engagement on strategic compliance policy initiatives and providing a centralised greenhouse and energy audit and assurance function within the agency.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory affairs, with experience in program management, audit and assurance, and stakeholder engagement. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with program management within the section, including the agency's audit program, management of auditors, auditor inspection program and stakeholder engagement and education program.
  • Providing advice and support on audit and assurance policy, strategy and education matters including preparing complex reports and briefs to senior management and agency committees synthesising complex information and preparing clear written guidance for internal and external stakeholders interpreting and applying legislation and guidance taking responsibility for the achievements of own and team outcomes monitoring progress and following through to deliver quality outcomes establishing and maintaining effective and productive working relationships with agency staff and counterparts in other agencies to achieve section and branch goals.
  • Supervisory responsibilities may include conducting quality assurance activities and developing expertise required within the team analysing audit and inspection data and translating it into reports and overseeing data quality in SharePoint Excel and CRM systems.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience in audit and assurance and a working knowledge of Commonwealth procurement is desirable but not essential.
