Upholsterer Job Description

The primary role of an Upholsterer involves creating, repairing and restoring furniture by attaching trims, fasteners, feet, wheels and buttons. They work with wooden surfaces to complete the finishing touches on furniture pieces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Attaching various components to furniture items">
  • Completing wooden surfaces for a professional finish">
  • Conferring with management and clients to determine materials and costs for furniture items">
  • Making and repairing frames, as well as removing and replacing defective springs">
  • Measuring and cutting materials, then upholstering furniture items">
  • Padding and covering spring units for comfortable upholstery">
  • Removing coverings, webbing and padding from damaged furniture items">
  • Seaming cushions and joining sections of covering material">
  • Securing materials, padding, springs and webbing to articles to be upholstered">

Requirements:

Applicants must hold a relevant qualification in Upholstery and have at least 2 years of post-qualification employment experience or 3 years of relevant Upholsterer employment experience.

Benefits:

A remuneration package of $78,000 - $85,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
