Position Overview
Become a part of the esteemed School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW, where you will engage in both teaching and research within the dynamic field of Electrical Engineering. This position is ideal for an emerging academic professional aiming to build a solid foundation for a career in higher education. The Senior Academic role reports directly to the Head of School and does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Competitive salary for Associate Lecturer (Level A) – AUD $110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation; for Lecturer (Level B) - $123,620 to $145,730 per annum + 17% superannuation. Full-time employment. Ongoing (permanent) position.About UNSW

The UNSW School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications is recognized as one of the largest and most prestigious schools in Australia. Over the past 70 years, the school has evolved from a teaching-focused institution to a leader in electrical engineering research and education. Currently, the school serves approximately 1300 students and employs around 40 academic staff, managing an operating budget of approximately $14 million.
Required Qualifications and Experience
For Associate Lecturer (Level A)
A PhD in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. A demonstrated commitment to staying informed about advancements in the discipline. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching and developing learning materials at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Familiarity with educational technologies and online teaching methodologies. Proven ability to engage students and promote independent learning through effective assessment and feedback. Willingness to pursue professional development in teaching practices. Capacity to support and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity and inclusion initiatives. Evidence of ability to conduct high-quality academic research with minimal supervision. A record of publications and conference presentations relative to experience. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Excellent interpersonal skills. Understanding and commitment to UNSW's values and policies. Awareness of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant training.For Lecturer (Level B)
