Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at NSW Health. The successful candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, and procedural services in Anatomical Pathology, and participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert diagnostic and consultative services in Anatomical Pathology, including histopathology and cytopathology.
- Participate in teaching and training of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to research and quality improvement activities, including the development of new diagnostic techniques and protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.
Selection Criteria
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical Pathology.
- Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied, or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
- Proven ability to work as a team member with effective communication, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated personal qualities including effective communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management, and commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement, and a contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise within the specialty of Anatomical Pathology.
Requirements
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian.
