We are seeking a highly skilled Store Director to lead our team in Port Melbourne. As the key driver of sales and merchandising success, you will be responsible for driving store profitability through strong service, effective inventory management, and safe work practices.

A typical day as Store Director involves:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to achieve budgeted sales targets
  • Managing store expenses, including labor, inventory, and variable costs
  • Fostering strong relationships with trade and retail customers to drive sales growth and service excellence
  • Maintaining high store standards through effective stock replenishment, visual displays, and merchandising
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through product and store experiences
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and coaching new team members
  • Roster management, regular feedback, motivation, coaching, and development of the team
  • Providing a safe working environment and ensuring adherence to safety procedures
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
  • Inventory management and stock level adjustments to meet consumer demand and seasonal changes

Your strengths should include:

  • Previous retail management experience with a proven track record of success
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a trusting team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building internal and external relationships
  • Confidence and organizational skills to delegate tasks effectively
  • Experience in servicing both trade and retail customers and growing a business
  • Financial acumen, including understanding P&L reports, inventory management, rostering, and controlling expenses
  • A valid driver's license and ability to perform manual tasks
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to build a strong team and provide leadership where needed
