Government Relations and Public Affairs Professional

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive government relations and public affairs strategies to enhance the organisation's relationships with governments and other stakeholders. The role will drive positive outcomes for the community, members, customers, and the business.

The successful candidate will lead the development of strong working relationships with key Ministerial and Shadow contacts, Members of Parliament, government departments, agencies, industry leaders, and regulatory bodies. They will monitor the political and regulatory environment, identifying key areas of public policy for opportunities and impacts to the organisation's operations.

The role involves contributing to the promotion, education, communication, influence, and publication of key advocacy messages and campaigns across all levels of government. The successful candidate will also represent the organisation at external events, including government hearings and inquiries, and act as a spokesperson for the organisation, effectively communicating its positions and initiatives to external audiences.
