Job Overview

As a Team Lead Production, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned departments to ensure quality parts production, associate safety and welfare, and maximum efficiency and production rates. The role also involves contributing to a work environment that minimizes attendance problems and associate turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce company policies and shop floor rules.
  • Determine machine status and priority order at shift commencement.
  • Met with personnel at each shift to discuss daily agenda, requirements, performance, safety, quality, and maintenance issues.
  • Perform regular audits per schedule and audits with associates on rotation.
  • Conduct spot-checks on machines, products, and basket tags throughout the shift.
  • Assist operators and setup technicians in troubleshooting machine or product problems.
  • Perform tool changes or setups when necessary.
  • Lead teams for Quality issues (8D or CAR's).
  • Verify setups and submit pieces for buyout.
  • Oversee departmental safety, housekeeping, performance, and organization.
  • Submit maintenance work orders and approve tool changes/setups.
  • Segregate nonconforming parts, investigate causes, and oversee repair to specification.
  • Maintain department goals such as efficiencies, scrap, rework, and indirect hours.
  • Communicate goals with employees and promote teams to achieve them.
  • Oversee training of personnel and maintain on-the-job training records.
  • Provide necessary information verbally or in written format to associates and other team leads and managers.
  • Participate in team efforts to resolve problems or improve process performance.
  • Counsel associates on sub-standard performance and provide remedial training.
  • Administer disciplinary actions when appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Prefer 2-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
